Which and Why Y-Lynx module?

The Y-Lynx module used in this application is the 25mW, the communication range is short and 14dBm output power is enought. In addition, the 25mW offers a very good channel blocking immunity.

Moreover, Y-Lynx's modules offer a very good flexibility where the system latency can be optimized and control.

System:

  • 6 point to point communications
  • RF Bit Rate 76.8kbps
  • Lantency below 6.4ms
  • High reliability

Y-Lynx's wireless modules used for a dance performance

wireless modules

"home” is a show in which six dancers produce music through the movements of their legs. The technical aspects of this show are used as a mean to constraint the dancers. They are not dancing, they are producing music through a difficult medium (legs with captors).

While the dancers struggle to produce a coherent “R&B” sounding music, a narrator tells “potential” stories. A same story might be told more then once with a small change leading to completely different results in terms of the emotions involved.

 How it works?

Each dancers is wireless connected to a MAC mini (thanks to four accelerometers placed on two legs) a music is playing accordingly with the dancer movements. Six dancers are on stage and so six wireless communications are established and maintain on the same time and during all the show time.   The radio link operates at 76kb/s. Its main features are a very low power latency (6.4ms) between transmit ans receive.
